Thank you so much, that's really helpful! I gathered as much, but it's good to hear your thoughts on it as well.

Hi all, I've read that Gabriel's in Santa Fe is a really good choice for some excellent Southwestern/New Mexican cuisine. However, most of these posts/articles are several years old, and some of the recent reviews on Open Table etc. are not that complimentary. Has anyone been recently? The other place I'm considering is The Shed. (We only have one meal/lunch in Santa Fe, so trying to choose between the two. The Shed is convinetly located near the Plaza and Gabriel's is on our way to Ghost Ranch.) Thank you!

Hi all, posting back! We ended up going to The Smith. Very competent and solid choice, the pancakes were good, although you do have to be a fan or caramel! If you like a more 'traditional' take on pancakes, this probably isn't it. Enjoyable breakfast. Thanks to all of you for your help, much appreciated

Thanks all! I'll let you know which one I chose and report back, in case it's of interest to anyone :)

Hmmm... I thinks it's Nougatine vs The Smith now... decisions decisions! :-) Thank you again!

Great, thank you again! I'm leaning towards the Smith at the moment... Is there any difference (last question I promise!) between locations? There's the one in Midtown, which is closest, but actually the one near Lincoln Square would work too as I was going to head in that direction after anyway. Are they all pretty much the same? Thanks all!

Thank you both, that's really helpful! Re Penelope, it seems lines there on a Saturday are also mega long, although probably not as bad as Clinton's!

Has anyone been to Jean George's Nougatine, which also isn't that far? Any thoughts on that as an option? Thanks again.

Hi all, I'll be in NYC over the weekend and staying at the Executive Plaza at Rockerfeller Centre, which is minutes away from Times Square. I'm from the UK and have been dreaming of getting some good (made from scratch, fluffy!) American pancakes for weeks. I know I'm probably not staying in a great location for food, but would it be possible to find what I'm looking for near by? My criteria is that it's within a 15min walk in any direction from the Plaza, and that I can eat at 9am on Saturday (so more breakfast than brunch!). I've been to NYC before and have enjoyed pancakes at Clinton Street Bakery, Cookshop etc. but need something closer. Thank you!
