After your first reply I tried again and with much effort the lid came off. If you had not replied I would have taken it back to the store, but thanks to you I did not have to do that. I really thought the lid was not removable. Thank you. I have seen a recipe for macaroni "cheese" and may try that. Sprinkled some on mashed potatoes yesterday and it was good.

Thank you hotoynoodle. I must have a very tight lid or I need to try more times. I have hammered away at it to loosen it, but gently because it is plastic. I will give it another try. Now I will use more force since I know it is supposed to come off.

I know, what a silly question. Is the top removable or do I lift up the sections on the lid and punch in the seal? I don't see how I can do that either. Once and "if" I succeed, does anyone know of good vegetarian recipes using this? I will also contact the company to ask how to open this. I believe the top does not come off. Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestion. I only buy small amounts of rice now and keep a container in the fridge. My freezer is usually packed, but if I buy extra rice I may find a small space in the freezer to keep it.

I have had a few days to look through the Deliciously Ella Plant-based cookbook that I borrowed from the library to see if I would buy it. It is a beautiful book, but I see that I would not be cooking from the sweet section and there are only a few recipes that I am interested in. I have decided not to buy it. Since I have the book until June 8, I will try the few recipes that I like and do not need a scale for. So, for now, will not be buying scales. There are too many good American and Indian cookbooks to buy and I have lots already. Thank you all for replying. I waited so long for the US version of this book and thought I must have it. There may have been an error (Amazon comment) in the publishing regarding sending British version to US.

I have a British cookbook from the library, considering buying if I can figure out accurately how to use the gram measurements, etc. I know I can look up charts online, but I have heard that many of them differ. I am thinking about buying a scale and there are so many. Can anyone suggest a very good, accurate scale/. I will not be constantly using it, but probably a few times a month. Although I do not need an expensive one, I don't want one just because it is the cheapest if it is not great. The cookbook I may buy is Deliciously Ella, The plant-based cookbook. I have two of her other books and she used US measurements in them. I do not mind learning, but do want a good accurate scale for this. Thank you.

I have been wanting a Vitamix for many years. I am drawn to the pro 750 which is supposedly a little bit quieter than the others, though not quiet. I am single and mostly would be making smoothies for one, sometimes two, but would branch out when becoming familiar with it. I do not want the S series, portable ones, or the Explorian (I heard it is extra loud). Does anyone have the Heritage pro 750 machine and are you happy with it? I would get the 48 oz container as well with the pro 750. Would love your comments, thank you.

ratgirlagogo - It was my mistake by not putting "dried" which was in the recipe. If I come across a recipe that asks for fresh, I will look around for fresh or use watercress or spinach. Sorry I did not reply right away as I am sometimes two seconds behind everyone else and needed to give your reply some thought. Thank you for answering.

Yes, you are right. I should have put "dried" in my post. Recipe from foodandflavorsbyshilpi.com says dry fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi).

I should have put "dried" methi leaves in my post. I looked at the recipe again which I found on foodsandflavorsbyshilpi.com.

I would like to make Gobi Tikka Masala and recipe calls for methi leaves. First of all, is there a substitute for methi leaves. I prefer organic. I live in North Orange County, Ca and probably Indian stores would have this, but would like to know a really good brand to buy. Amazon has an organic one which only has 5 reviews.

Would love to hear from you.

I posted a question some time back regarding urad dal. I did purchase a bag or organic urad dal on Amazon in 2016 and it was fine. Need to buy more since I have decided to cook with it again. I notice the reviews for the one I bought before are older reviews and nothing for 2017 which makes me think they are not being purchased. Other organic urad dal has only about 4 reviews. Does anyone know of a good online store that would sell organic urad dal, or are you using a brand that you like and an online store where I can purchase it? Am I being a bit too fussy getting organic, it is what I prefer? Do not want a substitute, but is there one for urad dal?

I am replying to my own post. I returned the pans today. They are fantastic pans, but did not want the HOT handles.

I purchased the Curtis Stone 12 inch multipan and 12 inch grill pan (cast aluminum with dura pan nonstick coating) as a special deal on HSN. I already have the larger durapan with lid. When the multipan and grill pan arrived today I was excited to try them. I made an omelette and the pan was great, nothing stuck and meal was delicious. HOWEVER, while cooking the two helper handles got EXTREMELY HOT and I did not dare touch them. I was careful, but I knew that in time I would forget and get a burn. I was hoping to pick up the pan and slide the omelette out onto a plate. I may have to return them for this reason only.

Does anyone have any suggestions - mini oven mitts, silicone covers, or anything else, or just return it? I am not a nonstick or regular cast iron fan, but do want to make eggs and pancakes in a nonstick pan. I want something where I can wash it with soap and water as I can with this pan.

I received the pan today and looked on the HSN website for reviews where others have just received their pan. Some of the reviews also did not like the handles getting so HOT.

Thank you. Do you actually own the Cuisinart 14 cup? I was not sure if you were just describing the product or if you have one. If you do own one, are you happy with it? I know it has very good reviews. I will look at the Elite online first.

I am looking for a new food processor and I have seen good reviews on the Cuisinart 14BCNY model. On the Amazon website and Bed, Bath and Beyond it does not state BPA free. It is a Lexan work bowl. I will call the company tomorrow - closed today. Does anyone own one and perhaps on the box it will say BPA free, or not. I read somewhere online that it is and another time that it is not. The local Bed, Bath and Beyond does not have them in stock so I cannot go in and look on the box.

If you own one, what do you think of it? Would love to hear your experiences and the BPA answer. Thank you.

Where would I buy the best sichuan peppercorns and what dishes could I make using them? Do they need to be ground or can you use them whole in a stir fry. I did purchase some from spicely organic and ground them. Can they be used whole in a stir fry dish? I noticed a lot of little twigs i mine and tried to remove what I could see. Looking for the best quality, best tasting. Would love to hear your ideas. Thank you.
