I used the fruit & nut setting to try to make a cinnamon, raisin, & walnut loaf. I stayed within easy earshot so that I would be able to hear the supposed beep so that I could then add the items to the dispenser. It never did beep! Does anyone have any idea why? At the very least maybe someone could tell me at what point to add these ingredients. Also I don't quite get how it is going to open up to accommodate the extra ingredients.......& yes, I went by the amounts indicated in the recipe exactly. Although I have made many other loaves in this Breadman, this was my first time to endeavor to use this feature.

hbkawachi, yes, that is the product! I was off on the date! Like CarrollLafio said, we didn't have them in a tube either. They were in a box, refrigerated, & we merely had to heat them, as the poster stated. Maybe the packaging was a regional thing. Thanks so much for filling in the blanks for me. Now I will sleep well at night. :-)

CarrollLafio, that's what I have been doing too. It was also my own mother who used to buy them. Just heat & serve & like made from scratch.

I would be guessing to say it was in the 1970's, but there was a delicious southern style biscuit sold in a box fully cooked. They were sold refrigerated & had a slight delicious crunchiness to them. The name of them was a number going back in time - something like "1857" or "1897" biscuits. If I saw a picture of the box I would immediately recognize them. I would love to know if they are being sold today.

I bought a couple of cans of the refrigerated Phillips lump crabmeat at Costco that has been frequently discussed here. Can it successfully be frozen?

I just watched a video of someone making Newburg sauce & a cup of shredded sharp cheese was added, which seemed out of place to me. What do you think?

What foods do you refuse to cook because they are too much trouble?

What is your "go to" recipe that is Asian in flavor, is quick to make, & uses only a few ingredients?

Lately I have been buying Organic Imagine Free Range Low Sodium Chicken Broth but it is so much more expensive than other brands. Do you feel that it is worth paying more for it? Yes, I know I can make broth from scratch but I would like to know your opinion of this product. Thanks.

I realize that Costco's concept is to sell in bulk but why can they not offer normal sized items like dessert pies & chicken pot pies in their non-frozen in house prepared food section? Some of us might actually purchase a few to freeze, but buying a pie to feed a serious army is out of the question for us. Surely they realize not all customers are restaurant owners & large families.

What is your "go to" website for healthy simple, yet flavorful meals similar to spa food?

Chick-fil-A now makes a regular cold chicken salad sandwich on good bread, but my favorite version was the toasted one that was warm & came in a foil lined bag. The ingredients were different also. I once heard they used Pepperidge Farm seasoned dry stuffing & that's certainly what it tasted like, but I don't know what else was in it. I miss it! Does anyone have the recipe or even remember what I'm talking about?

8th grade home economics class - What you called sloppy joes is what our teacher called spoon burgers (minus the green pepper). They were served on buttered broiled hamburger buns.
