Where do people recommend for the purchase of small chickens (ie 2-3 pounds)? Most new chicken recipes call for this weight however every chicken in the store is almost always in the 4-6 pound range. Thanks.

Saw a posting on Urbanspoon that a place called "Antojitos Mexicanos" was open or opening in Seattle on MLK way. Anyone know if there is a relation to a place of the same name in Yakima?

Does anyone know a place that offers this? No quality expectations.

Any recs for me? I read online about "555 Asian Deli" in downtown bellevue but could not locate it yesterday. Thanks

Piecora's on Madison has 1/2 price whole pizzas on Mondays. That's a pretty good deal for solid pizza.

Where is the best/cheapest place to buy whole wings or pieces? Trying to beat the crowds for this weekend and I don't want to pay too much. Thanks

I think Other Coast Cafe has a chicken parm. I had it like 6 years ago though. They just opened up on Cap hill and are also in Ballard. Might be worth a try.

I have had nice large buffalo wings at Cutter's near Pike Place on 2 occasions. Also, the Loft in Ballard adds some sweetness to the sauce but also makes a good wing.

I know they have them at both Salumi and Where Ya At Matt. The latter is a newish food truck serving southern food. I haven't had this sandwich at either of these places due to other tasty offerings. Please post how their sandwiches stack up to NO.

So I checked out Uneeda Burger during its soft opening last week. I was pretty excited for the opening of this place because the owner is also the proprietor of one of my favorite burgers in Seattle found at Quinn's. I also read that Uneeda was working off of a Shake Shack style of burger which rates very highly by burger aficionados.

Overall: this was a fantastic burger.
Beef: I had the Painted Hills patty. They also offer a local Wagyu and grass fed option for an additional price. The burgers are cooked to a really nice medium and the meat is tender, charred and has a nice loose form that falls apart (as opposed to say biting into a sausage patty). One friend found their meat under-seasoned and I saw that on Yelp also but mine was seasoned nicely.

Bun: was a sesame seed bun that was nice and soft to absorb the meat juices. It wasn't too big and neither was the burger overall. I am glad they did not try to get too fancy with the bun resulting in an overly chewy and bready bun.

Toppings: the lettuce was shredded romaine which really didn't offer much. I think a leafy lettuce would be better. There were pickles and I think tomatoes which was combined with a special sauce. I order cheddar and bacon also. The cheese was good but I wish they offered American cheese as an option considering what they were going for. The bacon was great. 2 big slices, cooked long enough to break apart when bitten into.

Fries: both the skinny fries and the waffle fries were really good. The skinnys are really just regular sized fries so don't expect shoestrings.

Shakes: I don't order shakes often but went ahead and tried one for the whole experience. It was hand-dipped and tasted good (as blended milk and good ice cream should). It was $5 but came with 2 servings.

In conclusion: get over to Uneeda Burger if you like a good, fast food style burger. In my opinion it blows Red Mill and Kidd Valley out of the water and is right there with Zippys as one of Seattle's finest. I cannot wait to go back and try out some of their other offerings.
Has anyone else been to this place? What did you think and how does it rank with your favorite burger places in Seattle?

Does anyone know if they are open for lunch? No hours listed on their website or yelp.

Yea.
Good people. Good food. Yes the line is long so don't expect fast service. The hot and cold sandwiches are great, the salumi is top notch and they also sell guanciale (a total bonus).

Has anyone been to this new taco truck that popped up on 23rd and Union in the Central District? Does anyone have any information on this place regarding background info or special offerings? I am trying to get there soon...Thanks.

Hi all. I am looking for a decent rendition of the soup dumpling in the area. I saw something in the Sea Times about a place in Issaquah but would prefer to stay closer to Seattle. Thanks.

Where can a good sous vide entree be had in Seattle?

I saw packages of them at the QFC in University Village last week. Not sure the brand.

Unless this is a recent thing, I would say no. I have sat at the counter on numerous occasions and have never seen them used. If so, I would not want to go back.

In Philly I believe rib eye reigns supreme. Here I am not sure what the different places use. I prefer philly fevre but it can be inconsistent bc the ownership is always changing hands. The Original Philly on MLK and Rainer is a close second. I have had Tat's but it wasn't memorable. Elo's is a distant last.

What other offerings from ILNY deli would people recommend?

So I went to Pizza Uno last night since I do live in the area. I totally agree with both your takes on this place. OK pizza, great value. Pies could have used a few more mins in the oven but reheated today in my oven made up for that. I am interested in the gyro place next door. What makes it so good? After reading about gyro meat production in the ny times I now feel like they are all very similar since they all come from the same factories in chicago.

I drove by here the other day and was intrigued. There are some posts on Yelp, but I would like to know if the chow crew has been here and whether it is worth a try. I really love NY style pie and usually get my fix from "A New York Pizza Place" which is ok but I would love to find a better place. I will try to get there sometime in the next couple of weeks and will let you know. Thanks.

Thanks Lauren. Google wasn't being too friendly with my search queries. Great work.

I used to have this recipe but lost it. It was featured on an old rachel ray show and then on foodtv.com. I figure that the pac nw board users would be most likely to possibly have it. If you do, thanks!

Funny you mention this bc I was looking to the same thing yesterday. $6 at safeway and $8 at met market for like 7 mushroom pieces. I would recommend going to an asian grocery and buy a giant bag of dried shitakes at 1/1000ths of the price. That is what I ended up using.

2 pork sandwiches you might want to try: 1) Paseos, Caribbean style sandwich either the roast or tenderloin, and 2) Seattle Deli for the bbq pork bahn mi (for $2.50).

My roommate who barely cooks just came home from costco with what I believe is boneless pork shoulder cut into large rib sized strips. He is envisioning some slow cooked (by me) wonder on the green egg bbq. I am wondering based off of the cut, what are some good ways to deal with this? Perhaps some carnitas? That's all i got. Thanks

I went to the Essential on Madison today and they said they don't make a hamburger bun. Maybe just at that store?

Does anyone know a good place to purchase quality hamburger buns? Not too crusty or bready, but not puffed white air and sesame seeds either. Thanks
