When I was young man working on my fathers garbage truck in Manhattan, one of our customers was Issac Gellis food store and factory. It's been almost 40 years since I had any of their hot dogs. We would have pounds of these at home for the weekends. Cooked on a flat top grill. When you take a bite, you get this snap from the casing and then a blend of spices to die for. I can tell you that If that brand was released today with the same exact recipe and natural casing, it would be a smash hit. I have never since I was a kid tasted a hot dog that even comes close to an Issac Gellis hot dog.
