Will be staying a few days in Burke, VA with a group. We will not have cars. Short of taking a taxi to Alexandria or Washington, is there anything near there for dinners?

Spent three nights earlier this week in the city. We had three great dinners. Cote, Marea, and La Vara.
Cote had a great vibe, and in addition to the stellar cuts of meat (went with Butcher's Feast option), the sides are fantastic.

Marea was another spot with a great, hopping atmosphere. Most of what I ordered was very good (including perfectly seared scallops), but risotto seemed a bit bland. Not blown away but excellent.
Took the train to Cobble Hill and had a superb meal at La Vara. From the really tasty gin and tonic, to small plates with charred artichokes, and grilled eggplant, to the smoked suckling pig.....all really delicious.

Of the three, would most likely return to La Vara.

Despite the great location, we had a sub-par experience at Vitae. Disappointing. No wonder they had reservation spots and everywhere else was booked.

Heading to Oak Island next week for a few days. What are the best dinner spots for local flavor, seafood, etc?

Looking for Monday night dinner spot near Grand Central. Any cuisine or price. Butter not available for the time we need.

Is there a restaurant in Midtown that has better than bar food for a place to watch the Super Bowl?

Thanks for the suggestion for Le Roi Feu. Fantastic and right around the corner from my BandB.

Had lunch at Scran and Scallie which was also excellent.

Tonight at Edinburgh Food Studio.

What about Luca? Seems not too far. Walk? Quick cab.
Grain Store and Caravan look good!

Is there a great restaurant in walking distance to St. Pancras station?
Coming to town early evening and need to leave later that night.
London for dinner one night. And just want to go not too far from the station.
Does not have to be michelin starred..just really good food. good vibe.

We have four adults and four kids.... we're staying in Queen Anne but will venture out. Perhaps Ballard area.
We're from out of town and don't know much about the area.
I want to go to The Walrus and the Carpenter and Bar Museline, or No Anchor, but I just don't think there is much for the kids. Oh well.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Will be in Buffalo next Saturday night with hotel near Dingens Park and Kaisertown.
Are there any really good restaurants near the hotel or immediate area? The group usually does not venture far from the hotel.
Thanks for any help.

Will be in town with a small group and our hotel is on Golden Gate Blvd in Mayfield Heights.
On a Monday night, is there anything near there worthy of a really good meal? Most of the group won't venture too far from the hotel.

Moxie?

Thanks for any help.

Just had a great few days in Minneapolis.

Dinner #1 and #3: Butcher and the Boar- fantastic- so good I went back.
Dinner #2: Bachelor Farmer: I had a great dinner sitting solo at the bar. Delicious cocktail and the food was exceptional.
Breakfast #1: Eggy's...loved this little place. Friendly and yummy breakfast sandwich.
Breakfast #2: breakfast meeting at Keys at the Foshay. decent omelette and tasty Rolls.
Lunch #1: Matt's Bar....I waited a LONG time for my Jucy Lucy but it was very good. I was in a bit of a rush so next time I would like to spend more time just hanging out.
Lunch #2: Porchetteria at Terzo. This was outstanding food. Actually ordered two sandwiches and had one on the flight home.
Lunch #3: visited the Midtown Global Market and had lunch at Manny's Tortas. Very good. Also enjoyed beer from Eastlake Craft Brewery.

Next visit: Spoon and Stable and World Street Kitchen

Perhaps latinpig was referring to butcher and boar for the bourbon. I'm definitely going to Butcher and Boar.

Between Spoon and Stable and Bachelor Farmer, I'm leaning towards Bachelor Farmer.

Also want to go to Terzo's Porchetteria and World Street Kitchen.

Anything else? Read about Matt's Bar today as the most iconic restaurant in the state. Thoughts?

Reading this post from last year.... I'm headed to Minneapolis for the first time next week. With one night available should I go to Spoon and Stable or Bachelor Farmer? I'll be by myself. (Like to hit butcher and boar as well).

Ended up going to Tazza Kitchen, and it was actually pretty good. Everyone pleased.
Members of the group were there early and went to CanCan Brasserie in Carytown for lunch and loved it.

We are visiting overnight this weekend. We have a small group that is staying in Short Pump but does not want to drive to Richmond proper for dinner.
What are the non-chain options in Short Pump?
I know they are chains but Tazza Kitchen and Burger Bach look good to me. But are there any other options? Good drinks, salads, pastas, local meats....

Harvest Moon Grille in Lincolnton
Heirloom in north Charlotte
Apparently the largest Bojangles is in Lincolnton.
45 minutes from Kindred in Davidson

Good luck with the driving on a race weekend.

City Kitchen in Beaufort is fantastic. Great spot at Town Creek Marina. Porch seating very nice.

I know the view might be great, but is the food any good at Fahrenheit?

Just had a great couple of days in downtown Winston Salem. Frankly, I was pleased with the additions and how the little 5-10 block radius has grown (at least that's what I thought). For example, I don't remember the Mast General Store being there the last time.

Local 27101---- that burger was excellent. I had the local and added bacon and caramelized onions. Watch out for the double..it's a lot.
Small Batch Beer Co....just had a delicious mocha dark lager, and I love the local spirit of the place
Kabobs on Fourth...more people need to check this out. The stuffed grape leaves may have been the best I have ever had.
The Honey Pot....this was the surprise of the weekend. I sat at the bar and went through the menu a bit....the whipped honey butter (just honey without butter) on sweet potato fritters was really good. The bartender made a fantastic bourbon manhattan after I told him what I like. The pork laap was like korean lettuce wraps. Fresh foraged mushrooms....had a simple salad of different kind of mushrooms...and then a ricotta gnocchi with mushrooms and white truffles... wow... what a cool place.
Mary's Gourmet Diner....delicious Reuben with smoked sausage and a side of grit cakes.
Also don't remember the Hutch and Harris Bar being next door to the restaurant. Great addition!

So, pleasantly surprised.

I've been a few times to said conference in downtown....just skipped last year.
No fine dining. Yes to lunch.
Have gone to Foothills Brewery for dinner a few times.
Just wondering if anything is new near the Convention Center.

I'm heading back to Winston Salem for a conference after a couple of years. Anything new and interesting?
I'm looking forward to spending some time at the Small Batch Beer Co.
Kabobs on Fourth?

Family in town tomorrow night and would love dinner between Rockefeller Plaza and hotel on 40th and 5th.
Suggestions for not fancy or overly expensive ($18-$25 for entrees). Despite price, food is important to this group. I know we are late for any reservation.
Any cuisine would work.

Group of six will be in Wilmington next Friday.

We are from Charlotte and not familiar with the food scene in Wilmington.
I see Rx online, and that looks pretty darn good.

Any other options that are local but less expensive than Rx? The group likes good food, but not necessarily $28 entrees.

Good, fun local seafood spot?

Thanks.
