Early congratulations. You certainly deserve a clam bake. Here is a link to what might be the place of your dreams. While they don't mention clambakes, who knows...

The Mississippi Pot Roast recipe makes a very flavorful roast. Many recipes on the internet, but I've used this one very successfully.

La Camilia in Mount Kisco offers excellent Spanish cuisine with a long list of tapas and well prepared entrees in a very lovely setting. Especially enjoyable in warmer seasons when the gardens are delightful.

Don't know details of your route, but Rein's Deli in Vernon, CT might be a possibility.

The new name of the Lobster Roll will be Sound Bistro. They are opening "spring 2017." Nothing I can see with a more specific date.

Many places list "kosher option available." Colonial Terrace in Cortlandt Manor, Tappan Hill in Tarrytown and Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle are in that category. I am not sure of their prices and their degree of Kosherness would have to be investigated.

The synagogue catered route should be less traumatic than you anticipate. The caterer can coordinate all the details like furniture and supplies. We have used Craig Pellis at Silver Spoon Caterers and he has been great.

Here in Westchester on Planet Earth, the milk that is sold in supermarkets is the pasteurized milk that has been sold for decades. It even has an expiration (sell by) date on the bottle, usually about 7-10 days, and shortly after that you will note that it has turned sour--hardly the course of ultrapasteurized milk. Cream is a different story--it is usually ultrapasteurized. And by the way, I for one have no problem with milk from cows who have been treated with growth hormone. Milk is milk, and any problem with GH is the cow's, not mine. The benefit, by the way, is ours--the cows produce more milk, lessening the cost of producing it.

Squire's in Briarcliff for great burgers.
Briars in Briarcliff for good fish meals and burgers.
Ossining Pizza is my favorite.
Wish I could recommend a Chinese take-out.

My research shows Stop & Shop to be only in the Northeast. You must be thinking of Shop & Save which is a small chain in the Chicago area (whose owners have Polish roots). Sounds like nice stores to shop in.

Stopped tonight at new Los Abuelos--every table taken or reserved, with people waiting. Left and went to original North Highland location where we were immediately seated. Subsequently every table was taken. The food was excellent--tasty shrimp, grilled chicken and chicken soup served in good portions. Service was prompt, except when we tried to get the check.

La Manda on Tarrytown Rd. in White Plains is old school Italian which can be quite good. Less "elegant" than Valentino's but it can be satisfying.

Here's what is supposedly the recipe for Lindy's cheesecake, generally regarded as the standard for cheesecakes, which you can use as a guide for your cakes. When I have made it I have tried to "lo-fat" it somewhat by using milk instead of cream and leaving out the egg yolks, and it still comes out as a dense, delicious cake.

If you are in the area, the Rockland Bakery lists onion rye bread as one of their many varieties of rye breads.

Sounds like your blender just needs fairly simple repairs--especially since you don't use it often.

My daughter got married at Mohonk 17 years ago in late August. While I don't remember specifics, I was not aware of any problems. The thing that I remember most is the setting. Incredibly beautiful. The ceremony was held in a large garden, and there were numerous photogenic backgrounds all around, so we are still feasting on the pictures.

Was at Goldfish in Ossining recently for a very tasty prix-fixe dinner, and they had a flyer announcing their Mothers' Day brunch posted by the entrance. Could not locate the details on Website, however.

There was a good assortment of herb seedlings on the walk in front of the Shoprite in Croton. They looked very vigorous and seemed reasonably priced.

Tre Angelina on Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains offers excellent Northern Italian food and very pleasant surroundings. A very enjoyable, satisfying evening.

The Arch, north of Brewster might not be real French, but it is charming, the menu lists "Crisp honey-roasted duckling" and the dessert souffles are ooo-la-la.

OK, its not in Westchester, but Alain's Bistro is just across the Tappan Zee Bridge in Nyack. Ate there Friday night and has a great Bouillabaisse, a friend throughly enjoyed his cassoulet, and a rack of lamb was also superb. As a bonus, we took a fun trip after dinner to the Rockland Bakery in New City and brought home some freshly baked rolls and breads. Delicious.
