Looking for a casual, fun, interesting (just anything unique/different) place in the valley for a group of fifteen teenagers (aged 18). Most of the teens are adventurous eaters, but I don't want anything exorbitant in price. No sushi or mexican.
Thank you!

Other than the atmosphere and kitsch factor, is it worth a visit? The menu doesn't look that appetizing, (it is a cafeteria, after all), but with the historic value, etc. I'm curious if it's worth a meal. OR, I hear the bars inside are nice. Maybe it would be better to eat somewhere else and go to Clifton's for a drink?? Thank you!

Hello,
#1 Looking for outstanding ramen to take my ramen aficionado teen. Preferably not too far from airport (we are traveling from airport to Port Angeles area), so perhaps somewhere along the route? (If possible)
#2 Casual restaurant (also for teen) with outstanding oysters, or something teens would like (ie: not too fancy/stuffy) , Korean bbq, Chinese, American (no pizza/Italian, no Mexican)- same geographic location. Thank you!!

What is your favorite? Looking for an upscale Japanese restaurant for anniversary celebration. Been to Nobu Malibu too many times. What else? Within LA county, please.
Thank you!

Other than the major chains (Sees, Godiva, etc) where can I get good sugar free chocolate products in the LA area?
Thanks!

We will be staying at the Pan Pacific Hotel for New Year's Eve and looking for somewhere to have dinner with 4 adults and 4 teens. I've heard all about Spinasse, Copper Leaf and Joule which I can't wait to try, but with our teens the menu needs to be more mainstream, (although our kids love Asian cuisine.)
Any suggestions? Walking distance or around Seattle Center would be ideal, but we are willing to cab it for a great restaurant.
Thanks so much!

Looking for a place with excellent food and ambiance. Been to Geoffrey's, Moonshadows, Nikita. Where else? Nothing too quiet, prim and proper, either. Trying to stay north (easy access from SFV). Thank you!!

Went last night. Atmosphere is hands down the best. We were on the rail outside, they have many of the pyramid heaters (beautiful but not that efficient) and even have blankets if you get really chilly. Starter bread they give you was great and I love that they give individual evoo/vinegar plates. Green salad, shrimp carpaccio and lobster medalions were "meh". Of the three the lobster was the tastiest. Our group had two pastas, sea bass and filet. Pastas were boring and served in small white bowl (no presentation whatsoever), sea bass was tasty and filet was decent. Nothing earth shattering over there. Go for cocktails in an amazing setting! (or n/naka!)

Hi Friends,
I need a rec for a restaurant near the Perf Arts Center at Cal Poly SLO.
Will be dining with two teens, so nothing super fancy, but they have sophisticated palates (as teens go), so ethnic would be great, too. We're traveling so a fun environment AND good food would be a definite plus. Thank you so much!
Cheers!

Hello Friends,

I'm looking for a great Italian restaurant in Old Town Pasadena that is within walking distance of the
IPic theaters (former Gold Class Cinemas). I know of Il Fornaio, and if that's all I can get, I'll go, but I was hoping for something a bit more interesting. We're willing to walk a few blocks, so it doesn't have to be right in the vicinity, but not too far. Something a little bit upscale, if possible, with a good wine list or bar. It's for a birthday celebration. Not a mom and pop pizza/pasta type. I've heard of Gale's, too, but I don't think that's within walking distance.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Best!

EXACTLY! Which, in my opinion, is difficult to find. Most of the recipes I see that are on the lighter side, or considered healthy are bland, bland, bland!
Thank you!

And any appetizer recipes with the above criteria would be appreciated, too. Thank you!

Hello Everyone,
I am looking for terrific tasting recipes of traditional style Thanksgiving side dishes
that are more on the healthy side. I will be having a couple of guests that have health issues
so I want to try to have a couple of healthy options in addition to the traditional turkey, gravy,
mashed potatoes, etc.

I'm not looking for the vegan meat substitute, but rather dishes that
resemble a green bean casserole, for example, that is healthier than the traditional green bean casserole, or other side dishes.

My experiences have only been with healthier recipes that have no flavor. I am looking for
knock out dishes that are healthy. Is there such thing???

Thanks in advance.

I am in need of someone to prepare and teach me how to cook healthy meals for my family.
On the east coast, I've heard of chefs coming to your home, preparing a variety of healthy meals for your family and then teaching you how to make the meals that your family prefers.

Does anyone know of a person/service like this out here? I live in the west San Fernando Valley area.
I've tried searches online, but am not coming up with a lot of options.

Thank you!!

Any recommendations for lunch with 7 teenage boys within walking distance of the pier?
I really don't like anything on the pier itself, but was hoping to hear about some good food hopefully with a view of the water that's casual enough for teens, with a menu they'll enjoy. We'll be a party of 9 and we'll be coming from the Segway place on Ocean Ave. I see Rusty's Surf Ranch, Big Dean's Ocean Cafe and Bruno's. Any feedback on those places as well as any other recs?
Thank you so much.

Looking for a restaurant for a group of 8 that is casual and not too expensive (around the two $$ sign)
in the vicinity of UCLA. Not "Young and college student--y". Doesn't have to be RIGHT around UCLA, but somewhere in the vicinity. More American or Italian. Full bar preferred. No Japanese or Indian. Nothing too ethnic.
Thank you!

Try Bleecker Street in Tarzana. It's in the new area by Whole Foods on Yolanda (I think) right off Ventura Blvd.
They're trying to make it Little Italy/Village east coast feel. It's pretty charming and reasonable.

Yes, my northern border would be Burbank/Pasadena to Malibu all the way south to downtown.
No price limit and a Friday.
Thanks!

Suggestions for a holiday dinner, no sushi, casual/elegant, but more on the elegant, but not stuffy or too fancy (ie no hotels that are quiet and fancy. More louder, fun atmosphere)
My boundaries are Malibu to Burbank and south to Downtown.

Thanks so much!

Need ideas for a non-traditional Thanksgiving. What great restaurants are open Thanksgiving day with a great ambience? Any type of food will do!

Thanks so much!!

Can anyone suggest a restaurant in Long Beach to celebrate 20th anniversary?
I've heard of the Sky Room and McKenna's? Any opinions on those? Or other recommendations? Good food and view preferable. Doesn't matter what type of food or cost.
Thanks so much!

Anyone know of a caterer that will do small and very casual parties? I don't want anything fancy. Very casual, but something really good. Things that can be eaten and do well outside, by the pool, with kids. I'm in SFV.
Thank you!

Anyone know of a place that has taqueria style food (meaning the carne asada tacos, burritos, etc) that will come to your house and cater? I've had El Taco Llama before and they are good, but one thing that bothers me is that the price is the same for 50 people as it is for 20 people and they don't leave the leftover food. I'm looking for someone that brings the grill and will cook everything to order as guests order it.
Thanks so much!

Are there any good places to get a great piece of prime rib in the SFV? If anyone is familiar with Bully's in San Diego, I'm looking for something like that. Where the small cut is so big and thick you can't even finish that. No frills, not fancy, just good.]
Thanks!
