Looking for central/downtown Toronto butcher recommendations that have pasture-raised beef and bones to prepare marrow at home.

Thanks in advance.

This is terrible.

Who does this person think she is and how has the negative review been taken down?

Is she the only restaurant owner to pour her heart into her business and receive a negative review?

Why state how much the customer paid? Why compare to the price of a restaurant in the US, which is complete BS anyway.

This reply was passed around an email chain of friends who celebrate with great meals often and I just went to catch up on the threads. Looks like Edulis has lost a few dozen customers here, most who have been a few times per year since opening. Hope it was worth it.

Thank you both for replying. This would be a Friday night dinner for those coming from out of town. We're also thinking of Montecito, Patria, and Boehmer.

I would prefer a bit more casual, like a brewery or taqueria.

Planning for a wedding in 2017 and have over 200 from out of town. Looking for a casual restaurant in downtown Toronto to accommodate this number and wouldn't necessarily have to be seated.
Any ideas?

Has anyone been to Cava in 2015? Wondering what it's like with Chris McDonald no longer there.

Thanks

Torito is still cranking out good food? It's been a long while since I've been back, but it was my go-to those first few years that it was open.

Four cocktails at Campagnolo costs $60. Am I sharing baguette and olives for dinner?

It's a great place, but I've never been out of there for less than $75pp.

To be more specific, I'm not looking for the secret way to spend less at an expensive restaurant. I'm looking for a place I could take a couple looking to spend no more that $100, and have them be able to choose from and enjoy most of the items on the menu.

That's a good one! I'll add Lil Baci for a similar price.

Khoa San Road usually works.

I'm trying to comprise a list of places to meet friends. I love ethnic dives, but not exactly what I'm looking for here.

Tax, tip, one or two drinks each all included.

The list is dwindling.

Where can an enjoyable sit-down meal be had at this price in Toronto today?

...and don't suggest tacos or hamburgers!

Bar Isabel has a cool and hip atmosphere to YOU, maybe?

I love how you have deemed it most appropriate for people from SF and NYC. No need to explain.

Many people travel the world for special occasions AND eat economically. I'd even recommend it. It is most understandable that the host does not want to extend her guests any further than she has to, after having them come such a long way.

I think BI makes great food, but would certainly not send five 40s guys there after a hockey game.

I have yet to have a bad meal with out of town guests at The Chase, upstairs. I do see that their prices are still climbing.

Just read a decent intro in Toronto Life. I see they're also doing $10 Argentinian grill sandwitches and $5 pints all day this Sunday.

Has anyone tried this place out, yet?

Kanida Chey at the helm, here. Menu looks interesting and straight-forward. Has anyone been?

Please help me out here!

Not everyone likes ribs that fall off the bone like a McRib.

The old school steak houses(Barbarians, La Castille, The Octagon) do a pretty good job, but I'm looking to see what else is available.

Thanks

Thanks for your help! The biggest problem is that this is for July 4. It doesn't seem like much, other than the hotels, will be open. We are most definitely willing to cab, but I've called at least a dozen places and they are all closed.

Maybe Six Seven is the best option, afterall?

Should have mentioned that we are all dressed up. Taylor Oyster Bar looks like fun, but too casual for pretty dresses.

Anything goes, one of a few of our meals in Seattle, and on July 4. It has to be a 6pm reservation, as we have to be somewhere for 8.

Six Seven is booked as a backup. Any other suggestions are appreciated, and hoping they will be open.

Thanks

Would you recommend the tasting menu, or would two people do better by sharing 8-10 dishes on the regualr menu?

Looking for a nice, and not corporate-feeling, restaurant to take my girlfriend to for lunch. She lived in New York 5 years ago, so something newer, dare I say trending, would be ideal. We are very open-minded eaters, and just don't want anything that's too heavy.

Thanks in advance!

Also agree, with a $5 filling taco two doors down. Staying with the Kensington theme, Patty King's two beef patties in coco bread fall just under $5, as well as doubles. Some small pho are still $5 downtown, too. Let's no forget The Atlantic's $3 curry, and PWYC at The Depanneur after 7:30 most weeknights.

Update...will stop by Sanigan's tomorrow, and see what they have.

Has Hogtown Closed?

Can anyone recommend a place that sells charcruterie and terrines to take away? I'm located in the centre of the city.

Thanks
