I couldn't find the korma fish curry at my TJ's this morning so I asked an employee. She checked the computer and advised it was recalled due to a "labeling issue" with no known date for its return. Thankfully (hopefully) not discontinued and will reappear at some point, in case anyone else is looking for it.

+1 for Scott's Pizza Tours. We did one of his tours (walking; not bus) earlier this week and just loved it -- it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I'd totally do another one if I make it back to NYC.

Wow ... and here I am thinking I got a steal of a deal at $7.99 for the 5 lb! It's all relative, I guess.

Thanks for this, so helpful! There are a few of the listed WF's near our wanderings so I've added it to the list.

There'll be just two of us - me and my 15-yo DS. He, shockingly since he's my child, is not a lox eater (how can that be?!) but I have no doubt I could polish off the lox five ways all by myself. But, I need to save room for other meals and treats, so lunch will likely be something along the line of yours.

Thanks so much for the Lox Cafe suggestion. We have 9am SOL Crown tickets and were planning to find someplace nearby for lunch in between the SOL and our visit to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, so the fact that there's a great (lox!) place w/in the museum is perfect! I can never get enough lox so I am very excited :)

Does Seed & Mill sell their halvah anywhere else in the city? We'll be in the city for a few days this summer but I don't think we'll make it to the Chelsea area, and I am a halvah fanatic.

If you're a Costco member, they have the Manichewicz 5lb pack of matzo for $7.99 - a terrific price b/c my local grocery stores (Safeway and Fry's) are $14.99 and $19.99, respectively.

I'm still trying to decide on an entrée for Passover and this sounds wonderful. Would you mind posting the recipe? I searched and can't find it online. thanks!

I use my large ice cream scoop. No drips, no mess, and perfectly equal sized muffins/cupcakes every time.

Thank you -- I'll just use the metal blade next time (I'd prefer not to use the box grater) and save myself a lot of aggravation!

Hi,

I have a Cuisinart FP-14DC food processor. I use it (among other things) when making potato latkes at least twice a year. A problem I keep running into is when I use the shredding disc for the onions. I put large chunks of onions in the feeder tube and end up with a combination of onion juice and smaller chunks of onions in my work bowl. No shreds, like I'm aiming for. Am I cutting my onions wrong? Or is the shredding disc just not the best disc for onions? The disc is reversible, and I've tried using both sides w/ the onions w/ the same result. The disc works beautifully on potatoes. I made latkes last night and after fishing out all the large onion pieces from the work bowl, said "never again." I would love to know what I'm doing wrong!

Clearly I'm in the minority here, but I recently donated about 200 of mine to Goodwill, leaving me w/ a dozen or so that I kept for sentimental reasons. They were such dust collectors and I never used them; I just go to my recipe file or the internet when searching for a recipe. It was a good feeling to get rid of them!

YAYAYAY for the Field Fresh Chopped Salad with Grilled White Chicken -- certainly not a new item but new-to-me. I've had it for lunch the past two days after a coworker shared them w/ me. Just delicious and the perfect blend of textures and flavors. What a great combination of ingredients! Lots of dressing, way more than needed IMO, I only used about half the packet. I think I could easily eat this for lunch every day and not get sick of it, that's how good it is. Will become a regular purchase for sure!

They're in a pink box, with a plastic bag of cookies inside. At my store, they were on one of the end caps. I didn't see if they also were in the cookie/frozen food aisle, but I didn't look there.

+1 for the yay on the Dark Chocolate Mini Heart Cookies. I picked up a box for a Valentine's Day treat for my teenage DS, and he decided to share them with me. We polished off the box in one sitting last night. They are crunchy, simply delicious, and very addictive. We agreed that this is one of those dangerous, never-to-buy-again items (Cornbread Crisps fall in that category for us). I'm guessing these cookies are a seasonal item which will help in avoiding temptation in the future.

Thanks - I will give it a try on my next trip. I typically only use it on salads and pizzas (made on TJ's frozen garlic naan).

Russ, how does the Fat Free Feta compare w/ their Light Feta? Their Light Feta is a staple purchase for me, as good as full-fat IMO. And is the Fat Free Feta sold in a chunk or crumbles?

I've seen the boxed Tasty Bite items at Costo but haven't tried them. I've tried some of their microwaveable pouches from Sprouts, and found them to be pretty decent for a quick lunch.

The Perky Jerky Original Turkey Jerky (how's that for a tongue-twister?!) that's on coupon special this month is DELICIOUS. It's thinly sliced, soft, and slightly sweet. I only bought one bag to try it out, and I'm going to have to pick up another bag or two while it's still on special. (I'm in Scottsdale, AZ.)

We were on Oahu and Maui last summer and made a breakfast stop at Leonard's while on Oahu. If you haven't been there before, their parking lot is TINY, street parking is nonexistent, and the seating consists of a bench or two outside. There's a large Safeway shopping center directly across the street -- that's where we parked, and we ate our malasadas at the Starbucks inside the Safeway, where there are tables/chairs, lots of napkins, and a restroom to clean off sticky fingers!

I make this cake for my bday every year, I have also been bringing it to work for a coworker's bday for years (she requests it), and I've even had another coworker pay me to make it for her husband's bday. It has the most velvety, fudgey consistency, and when I make it for myself, it is ALWAYS served with mint chocolate chip ice cream -- it is the perfect complement. My son has even requested it for his bday in a couple months. I find the cake is even better cold, straight out of the fridge!

YAY - honeycrisp apple cider. This is as good as the cider I'd get at cider mills years ago when I lived in Michigan.

NAY - shiitake mushroom chicken. Simply flavorless.

Tonight trying the chocolate crepes that have been languishing in the freezer for awhile, will report back.

Kahlua is pretty traditional in tiramisu, at least in the recipes I've made.

Not really ... I always start them a day ahead (which I think the recipe states), then bake them in the morning. It does get a little messy rolling them out with the cream cheese oozing out, so don't let that freak you out. They really are sooo delicious, I hope you like them! I make them every year for my son's bday breakfast.

Oh! Almost forgot - I use powdered buttermilk for the glaze and that works just fine, if you happen to have that and want to use it instead of the liquid b-milk.

Absolutely! I don't use either of them when I make them.
