The range you mention (within 2 miles of Ballys or the Venetian)includes the entire strip. How about being more specific?

10 grams of asparagus per bottle - I guess you could just about taste it.

I have to admit that I am not up to date on Italian restaurants in London but when I was a kid Italian cafes and restaurants were almost as ubiquitous as Indian. Now the quality was variable but you could find good places. Northern Italian became fashionable in London in the early '60s. Contrast that with most of the USA where it is hard to find a place that specializes in Northern Italian. I have dined at expensive ad highly rated Italian restaurants in Manhattan but still reckon the best I ever had was at Tonino's near Baker Street tube - sadly went out of business a long time ago.

I have lived in the USA for over 40 years and every house (5) and every apartment or condo (5) has had a garbage disposal. Do you mean a trash compactor? Those are not as common

Don't worry Dan - it will stop itself. But I did like the vending machines in Tokyo where you could get hot coffee and cold beer out of the same machine.

The Alpine Inn in Hill City does a pretty good steak dinner at a very reasonable price - looks very dated both inside and out but good steaks

IMHO thick aluminum BEATS thick copper for the simple reason that it is one third as heavy. Still loving our 5mm thick anodized aluminum with an induction friendly steel layer on the base.

Microwave ovens are cheap - though built-ins are a little more pricy. They are usually not worth fixing - just get a fairly cheap replacement - and if it is an oven that needs to be wired in get an electrician to do it as these appliances can store lethal voltages.

I said it was out of the way but the question was which is the smallest Pappadeaux

Jaipur - fusiony Indian with their own microbrewery is bizarrely very good

It's out of your way but I would think the Pappadeaux in terminal E at IAH airport would have to be the smallest

If it's French doisy would be pronounced "dwuh zee" which is pretty much indistinguishable from "dwa zee".

Well Joe Bastianich would certainly know about ripoffs - a couple of years ago he and Mario Batali had to return $5 million in tips that they had ripped off of their staff. http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style...

That sounds plausible - but they really shouldn't call it a filter. It's a chemical process.

I sort of disagree with the advice of not buying a set - you just bought a condo and doubtless have a tight budget. If you want to entertain, you are going to need more than one pot. So a good quality set is a cheap way to get enough pieces to entertain. THEN over time you can add individual pieces that work for you if part of the set disappoints and then you can always give those parts away. Someone here has already mentioned Tramontina as being pretty good on the value quality spectrum. May I also mention this set for just under $200 - http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KCH1... It is anodized aluminum with stainless steel on the base (works for induction). In fairness, I have to say that I got this set for free as an Amazon Vine reviewer (and you can see my review if you follow the link - my review currently has 11 out of 11 positive votes. FWIW I got to review free stuff for Amazon because people seem to like my straight-shooting reviews - some positive and some negative.

Sounds specious to me Zin. Dissolved sulfites CANNOT be filtered out of wine. It may be possible to remove them by some other means - probably chemical. But filtration can only remove particles. Perhaps the company is being very loose in its use of the word "filtration"

If you MUST have a burr grinder here is a manual one for $26.90 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Z... I was asked to review this but passed on the opportunity as I'm not sure my joints are up to the task any more

I took all my employees to Nawlins in August one year. Hotels were dirt cheap - meals were great and cost us way more than the hotels. Weather was fine that year.

The only time we went to the Savoy theatre we had pre-theatre dinner at Banquette at the Savoy hotel. Sadly this has now closed but the there is Kaspar's - also at the Savoy. Here is a link to their pre-theatre menu http://www.kaspars.co.uk/wp-content/u...
I think it would be difficult to find a restaurant that is more conveniently located for the Savoy theatre

Frankly I doubt that Martell VSOP is good enough for the market to be monopolized by Asians. Now Delamain or Tiffon (aka Brastaad) is a different question. Leaving cognac aside, the brandy that could get monopolized is armagnac.

Glad you liked Jaipur - I seem to be about the only regular poster who knows about the place

Actually Ray - I'm not sure what exactly you are agreeing about or even what your original point was meant to convey. You seem to think that aluminum cookware needs to be completely clad in steel to be good for induction - it doesn't. Anodized aluminum with a steel layer on the outside base is fine for induction, is lightweight and the aluminum confers great thermal properties - it is not "problematic". A steel layer on the internal/cooking surface is not necessary, adds weight, impairs thermal properties, confers no medical benefits (unless you are deficient in iron - in which case cast iron would be more effective).

The base is clad with stainless steel and that works perfectly well or induction. Since aluminum is a GREAT conductor the combination of aluminum and steel works just fine.
