Sorry this is definitely a very traditional Chinese cast iron wok. In fact, cast iron is a Chinese invention since the 5th century BCE, and they have been making very thin woks since this time. This is a very traditional home style wok, not intended to be lifted except to transfer food out or for cleaning the wok. No reason to shun it, just use it more often. Just be mindful, since it is very thin it can crack or shatter easier than thicker cast iron. So no sudden temperature changes, or banging heavy metal implements inside. But since it is thin, you don't have to wait as long to heat it up. So use it often and it will develop a nice seasoning.
