I just came back from 2 weeks in Colorado and since I didn't find too much written here before I left, I thought I would just share. Had 3 very good dinners at:
Northside Kitchen
Hooked
and Mountain Standard.
All recommended by our jeep tour guide and all were excellent!

I just want to say that I returned from a recent 10 day trip (SLC to Arches/Bryce/Zion) and so luckily happened upon Hell's Backbone Grill!! It was like reaching heaven on earth. We had ok food until then and were driving along route 12 in what felt like the middle of nowhere - beautiful but nowhere to eat. This restaurant is amazing - food worthy of any major US city, and to find it in this corner of the world is simply incredible. The owner, Blake Spalding, greeted us so warmly, and everything was perfect. Had delicious butter lettuce with strawberries and pepitos, roasted garlic, steak quesadilla, homemade pasta, red trout, short ribs, and the jenchiladas. I even bought their book, I was so enthralled. I highly recommend this restaurant - it was one highlight of an amazing trip!!!

Thanks - I saw that one and it is very close by. Do you have any dinner suggestions? Places within 30 minutes drive or so?

We will be on vacation for a week in Wood's Hole with 3 kids - ages 5-11. Any suggestions for family-friendly and good food? We will have a car. Hoping to avoid touristy, expensive and bad food! Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

I just wanted to thank ttj and chowmouse for your great suggestions - they really helped us to have a great vacation! The ramen museum was a blast, namjatown/ice cream city/gyoza stadium also very fun. We had delicious ramen at Hakata Ippudo and are now looking forward to trying the NYC version. Had crepes in Harajuku (dessert for lunch - kids definitely liked that!) and a MUJI meal too. Found a fun kaiten and had a delicious sushi breakfast in Tsukigi too. Ate twice at Gonpachi which had great food - once in Shibuya and once in Odaiba. All in all a wonderful trip!! Thanks again and if you ever need help in NYC - let me know!!

Thanks so much - this is very helpful! I read about the ice cream city - it looks like my kids will love that!! Glad to know we have many options - I am a little worried about the language barrier!!

We live in NYC - so we eat in both - good restaurants that allow kids - and also places that are very geared for kids. I think we are looking for both - and definitely not very high end! My kids love sushi and tempura and noodles - so if you have any specific restaurants to recommend, I would be grateful!

Does anyone have suggestions for good restaurants in Tokyo with kids - ages 5, 9 and 11? We will be staying in Shibuya for 9 nights. Thanks so much!!

are there any restaurants in south beach that are good, not overpriced and we can take kids to?

I am meeting an old friend in Montpelier for brunch - we have young kids with us and neither of us lives in town. Any suggestions for where to meet would be appreciated - especially if there is a nearby park or playground. Thanks!!
