Thanks. I'll try again. I'm there every few weeks moving through those crowds. I tend to move real fast through produce (emphasis) because it's the weekend.
Anyone know where to find fava beans in Atlanta? I've been to Dekalb and Buford and they're not there. Kind of surprising as I just moved from Chicago where they were easily found. I've been to an Indian market near Dekalb and no luck there. I'll have to hit up a few more Indian markets. That's my best chance, I'm thinking.
Thank you. I found them where you said I would. The box I bought had many smaller morels, at least 15. It was on sale for $12.99.
I hope so. I was thinking of hitting up that market this weekend anyway.
Really good to know that Brew and Grow has it. Sadly, that place is hard to get to ever since the store moved from its former Elston and Cortland location. Please let us know how it goes! Tips appreciated.
So there is a current board asking about where to eat morels around town. But anyone seen morels around town for purchase for home-cooking?
What does ISO stand for? I've had my eye on this project for a while. I know the Whole Foods on Roosevelt sells vegetable rennet. So I am going to guess the one on North does too but the inventory for the myriad of Whole Foods stores gets mixed up in my head. I am pretty sure vegetable works but some people prefer animal-sourced rennet.
Maybe there is a catch or a better deal, but the Treasure Island on Wells is selling Prairie Farms Heavy Whipping Cream for $4.19 a quart. This price is 2 dollars less than the price Jewel is offering for the Dean Heavy Whipping Cream equivalent. I don't have a Costco membership, preventing me from price comparison there. For those who like fresh butter and fresh ice cream like me, this is a good deal.
For recipes where heat is required, you probably could add butter to compensate for the gap in fat content. Though you couldn't do this with cold creamy desserts like the extra creamy ice cream I would like to consume this summer until I develop a belly.
Please let me know if you have made any progress. I will let you know if I find any. I think it is also called "manufacturing cream." I am almost sure Costco has it but I don't have a membership.
This post is coming up first on Google for "unroasted coffee Chicago" so I will add that Coffee Tree and Tea Leaves in Chicago sells unroasted Ethiopian auction coffee. Happy Roasting!
The Chicago coffee scene has blossomed recently. Asado on Irving Park is outstanding, with a small basic operation and a beautiful roaster in plain view. Intelligentsia is the older stand-by and has the most convenient loop locations, including a location in the beautiful Monadnock building (only open during the week) and on Randolph a few blocks from Millennium Park.
Thanks. I am going up to Devon this weekend. I will look around. Also MooGrass farms (www.moograssfarms.com) sells Goat's milk.
Are you still embarking on your goat raising and milking adventure? If so, I would like to buy some milk on a consistent basis, and I could locate others as well.
