I think picasso is my new favorite. also love twist, joel robuchon, le cirque. wasn't impressed with guy savoy or l'atelier.

haven't been to picasso but go to le cirque every time i'm in vegas. JR is nice (but a bit too formal for me) but I haven't gone back since I tried it the first time. I'd rather go to le cirque twice ;)

so sad to hear that alize has closed! Can anyone recommend a restaurant with similar quality of food and at this price point?

My flight into vegas is going to be delayed and it won't land till 11pm. Are there any nice late night options? I think raku is open late but I'd like to try something new since I go there pretty often... also any great new places that I should go to? was planning on going to le cirque and alize the other 2 nights i'm in town...

le cirque has nice views of the bellagio fountains...

Twist has decent strip views. alize is off strip but has a nice view of vegas.

Dave, have you been there? I'm curious to hear your opinions on where it ranks in the hierarchy of vegas fine dining. If you haven't been then get that travelzoo ASAP! half off makes this an insane value.

I got back from my trip to vegas last week. As always had excellent meals at le cirque and twist and had plenty of secret pizza since I was staying in the cosmo. My fiance found a travelzoo for alize for half off so we decided to try it. I was shocked at how good the meal was. It was the best meal of the trip and I enjoyed everything I had on the tasting menu. The souffle is clearly better at le cirque but everything else was excellent. A couple of my favorite dishes were the king crab salad (sadly no longer on the menu), the veal wellington, and the scallop. I enjoyed it so much I went back the last night of my trip. Definitely will be returning here next year as well.

I haven't been to e in a few years but wanted to try it again this trip. Looks like it's still pretty tough to get a seat. Couldn't get 2 seats for a wed when requesting a week out.

its really annoying how prices are no longer on the menus for a lot of these restaurants... Last time at le cirque I think the degustation was 135. At Guy Savoy I think it was around 300. I thought both meals were fantastic so I considered le cirque an excellent value considering it was half the price.

Just made it back last night. Sadly twist was closed during my entire trip (opening back up tonight). Le Cirque for christmas day wasn't as good as it has been previously. They weren't even offering souffle's. Apparently there has been some turnover in the kitchen staff. the meal was fine but didn't live up to previous meals. My date ordered the A5 kobe against my advice. The $35/ounce supplement (x3 ounces) was tiny and wasn't close to the best steak of the trip.

Andre's gave me my souffle fix. Their raspberry was very tasty. I had a few bites of the chocolate which was also excellent. The lobster thermidor was very nice. Service wasn't as polished as Le cirque but I might have to stop by in the future. Their marti gras (foie martini) was good.

Yusho was fine and reasonably priced but not worth a cab ride from another hotel. 800 degrees was surprisingly good and well priced.

Made it to carnevino twice for lunch. Their ribeye was wonderful (as usual), much more enjoyable then the aforementioned A5 from le cirque. We split the carbonara which was tasty, but as usual the sides were nothing special here.

Another great trip to vegas, can't wait to return at the end of march :)

I last went in July and enjoyed my dinners there very much. I went ahead and made reservations here for christmas day.

I think I'll end up going to twist, andre, and yusho the other nights. LoS and carnevino for lunches

First time spending christmas in vegas. Do you guys have any favorites? Staying at monte carlo (great rates!) but anywhere on the strip or a short cab ride away would work for us.

I always go to: le cirque, twist, LoS. Was going to try Andre since we're staying in the hotel. any other places we should try?

what a tease! I went to her blog looking for a review and was disappointed :(

Went to Vox table for dinner tonight. The cocktails (dany trejo, on the cuff) were fantastic and I enjoyed all of the dishes we got. Price point was a little high considering how small the portions were but I'll definitely be back. The three of us were stuffed and the bill was $150 including the two cocktails.

went tonight and everything tasted great. not the best value though. the two of us ended up spending $200 and my SO didn't really eat too much. no omakase is currently available though our waitress said that might change in the future. Definitely a tasty meal but I could have had a similar meal at uchi happy hour for quite a bit less.

some of our favorites were the asparagus/bacon and pork belly yakitori.

The lack of menu on the website is annoying... and they don't take reservations for small parties. I'll try to make it up on a weeknight and hope for the best.

What was the approx cost? Do you know how much they charge for omakase? Any favorite dishes?

I went last week and had the $200 tasting menu. I enjoyed everything besides the steak and the desserts. I had the carnevino ribeye for 2 for lunch and it was so much better. the desserts were ok, nothing spectacular. Some items I liked quite a bit were the foie cotton candy, oyster, cone, and tartare

the 3 course pre theater menu at le cirque has foie gras ($15 supplement) and is reasonably priced ($87 including foie) considering its on the strip.

lol - I'm in my late 30's so it would be generous to call me young. And I guess I aspire to eat lots of tasty food... and anyone who is paying $40 for brunch has got to be somewhat affluent

I made it for brunch yesterday. Overall it was pretty good. sadly no cinnamon rolls were available! but the other pastries were excellent. I got what I thought was oatmeal and it was fantastic. I think I had 3 of them :)

A few gripes... the eggs benedict had spinach instead of an english muffin and my french toast was cooked so much that it was a little burned. Otherwise we enjoyed our other selections (pork belly hash, filet).

Parking was a pain. no nearby parking available so we had to go to the garage a block away. This place really needs valet.

https://twitter.com/franklinbbqline I haven't been in a while but a wait of 3+ hours was typical. LA bbq is excellent as well and the wait was much more reasonable (1hr) and worth the wait IMHO.

I think the seafood and texmex are probably better in Houston.

chrisdds98 commented 7 years ago

both are great choices. based on my last trip I'd eat the meal at twist and go to le cirque for dessert. I think you'll be happy with either choice.

The steak at carnevino is excellent (I always get the ribeye for 2). The sides were underwhelming. the barbacoa ravioli that was on special was fine but I wouldn't order it again.

For a more balanced meal maybe Ramsay steak would be a better option. Steak is very nice and solid sides. The sticky toffee dessert is sooo good :)

I'm coming to vegas around the 4th of july and was looking for some excellent pre-theater dinners. I'm going to be with people who won't enjoy longer dinners and I really enjoyed the pre-T menu at le cirque last time so I was hoping that y'all could recommend some other nice restaurants with quick 3 course menus that would be similar. Staying at the palazzo this time and anything on strip would work well for us. TIA

sounds great. looking forward to some dinner reviews. seems to have a pretty small menu, hope it lives up to the hype!

sorry, yes, those are my go-to's. I've been to most of the other nice restaurants that are talked about here (e, savoy, JR) and although they were all very good I enjoy meals at twist and le cirque as much for a lot less $$
