Los Dos Hermanos on Thousand Oaks Blvd., near Erbes. The BEST "street tacos" we've had in the U.S. (and we lived for a few years in Mexico). Also a fantastic tostada with huge beautifully cooked shrimp. Good margaritas, that pack a whallop. No atmosphere to speak of, but the food is out of this world.

They were the BEST! Every once in a while, there will pop up one of their segments - still wonderful.

Possibly the WORST Mexican food I've ever had. Yes, it's very reasonable, but most Mexican restaurants are. Watery refried beans, overcooked meat, nothing at all traditional about the menu selections. Service is friendly, but that's about it. AND the only drinks available are beer and soft drinks - no margaritas, which to us, is one of the fun additions to a Mexican meal. We much prefer Agave Azul.

I agree! Can't believe Leila's is still in business, despite their outstanding food. It's just in such a weird place - you really have to know the little shopping center. I found out about it, as it's close to my hair salon.

And Zagat would be correct, at least in my humble opinion. Very good food - imaginative, nicely presented; good service; friendly staff (but not overly so). We also like Farfalla, in the Westlake Promenade. Westlake is so small, that it's difficult to find anything new. Grill on the Alley is ok - pricey steaks. Ditto, Mastro's. Do you remember the Pacific Dining Car near downtown L.A.?
