The Dorie Greenspan recipe is the best according to people who have tasted it, and me.

Which pecan pie is better CI or Dorie Greenspan. Always made Michael Recchiuti's. The recipe disappeared.

Linda McCartney or Mary McCartney? Do you have a link or more info?
Lemon mousse sounds very tasty. One of the people has trouble swallowing. So that would be better.

Thank you

I think that is what both the Julia Child and James Beard recipes are. Hoping someone had tried either or had a great recipe for lemon pudding cake, seems there does seem to be a consensus about a lemon pudding people love. so that is where I'm leaning.

Thanks

Want to mAke a custard. Or the coach house bread and butter pudding, James beard American cookery or Julia child cimmamon toast Flan, . Or lemon pudding cake. Anyone know theses?or something you like better

I made my first attempt at LMP, used the FF 13th edition. It is very good Lemon soup Meringue. Since then I read here that cooking the cornstarch too long will make it thin out. I cooked the corn starch, flour, water salt, what ever the recipe said for at least 10 minutes. Then it didn't seem thick enough, continued cooking for about 10-15 in a double boiler. The reason for this is- I didn't, still don't know how thick it should be. Could some one tell me what my goal is? Thank you, I'm obsessed with makind this pie.
thank you

So far I've tried Dorie Greenspan"s Sour Cream Pumpkin Pie, the flavor was perfect, the consistency grainy and thick. I must have done something wrong. it wouldn't firm up and I cooked it more than 1/2 hour more than the recipe called for.

King Arthur's Classic Pumpkin pie which is close to Libby's except one more egg, brown sugar in
place of granulated and more spices. Was kind of Blah.

Williams Sonoma Pumpkin Pie using Muirhead Pecan Pumpkin butter, It was good but pretty sweet with an unusual taste.

As you can tell I am obsessed with finding the Right One. Anyone have a favorite?

Time is running out- I am growing more concerned. Pls help.

He will be here before and after a trip to Key west, His wife has never been here. He is not crazy about noisy, super hip, super expensive places. So far, all I have decided on is Area 31 for Sat dinner to see the new Miami

On Thurs. March 15; For lunch or dinner we would go to the beach, something near the water or Lincoln Rd. Thinking Yardbird, Pubbelly Dutch too will be too expensive, Haven't been any of them.

For the non Beach meal, Gigi, Lulu in the Grove or River Red Light River for a casual meal? love Michy's but he would not like the price.

That only leaves breakfast Friday. Maybe Panorama or Gigi or Lulu in the Grove or Peacock Cafe? Last time I was at Panorama, the food very underwhelming, nice view.

The more I think this over the more difficult it becomes.

Thanks for help!

Those are both at the top of my favorites list. Michy's is quirkier and feels a bit more like a neighborhood place. Michaels is more stylish. Hard pick- Michaels has nice outside seating so if the weather is cool enough- I think I would lean towards Michy's. Be curious what others say.

Le P'titParis on Commodore Plaza and Main Highway is underrated for sure. Food is always good, sometimes exceptional, Sophisticated look. If you haven't been there recently they have a new chef who knows his stuff although I miss some of the old sandwiches. Knocks the severely overrated Bouchon du Grove out of the box. Prettier, cleaner and the servers don't work at having the French waiter attitude.
