Me and Z’s – Arroyo Grande

The Mrs has been having lunch here on and off with a coworker. We were looking for a place to grab a bite yesterday, she we decided I should try it for myself. This is a casual Mexican restaurant with a few more “Beach Town” additions to the menu like fish and chips. For our meals, she opted for the Sante Fe salad with shredded chicken. Meat, back beans, corn, onions and pico on lettuce with cheese and tortilla chips. It comes with a choice of dressing on the side. She decided there was enough going on that it didn’t need it. I opted for the birria de chivo as I was curious as to how they do it. This was a bowl of the meat in a savory broth. It also comes with your choice of tortillas. I opted for corn, which appeared to be store bought, with beans and rice on the side. The dish was half soup with the amount of broth in it. The version I get near work is a thick stew. The flavor on both versions are very similar. All meals come with a small cup of soup (type varies) and end with a small dessert.
