ZPizza, Falls Church: Quick Report

Bob W. | Feb 3, 2005 12:12 PM

Just tried ZPizza. Having not even heard of this place until a couple days ago and knowing nothing about it, I had no preconceived notions whatsoever.

I got one of their creations, the Provence pie: artichoke hearts, capers, tomatoes, roasted garlic, basil, mozz, organic tomato sauce.

Verdict: The crust is excellent. Really great. As for the toppings, I was a bit underwhelmed. The pie was really pretty, but the flavor needed some oomph. Dare I say it, even with capers, the pie was not salty enough (and I am someone whose salt tolerance is really low). One word to describe the pie? How about "effete"?

Next time I might try the Tuscan Mushroom pie or the Mediterranean.
