I joined Chowhound just so I could ask this question. I've seen many posts re: Zojirushi rice cookers, and my husband and I were just about ready to plunk down the money for an NS-ZCC10 (or 18)--until I started reading reviews of other rice cookers like the Sanyo ECJ-HC100S or the Aroma ARC-856 or the Panasonic SR-DE102. (See reviews of rice cookers on metaefficient.com.)
Since I'm just looking to make decent white and brown rice and porridge and want easier clean-up than our old Salton rice cooker, I'm wondering if we really need to spend as much as a Zo costs.
From the positive reviews the non-Zo's have gotten, I wonder if I should start less ambitious and expensive.
