Zoita (Skillman ave & 46th street)finally opened a few weeks ago, after much delay. I find their plain and chocolate croissant delicious, especially with the Lavazza espresso they offer. Although I'm not sure they make the espresso well, which doesn't bother me as I make it into caffe Americano by adding hot water. Today, my second visit, I was happy to find things getting better. Their Palmier is very light and airy. The croissant is the kind that's soft and tender on the inside and buttery and crisp on the outside. The pastry to the lobster tail was a bit soggy, but the filling is nice. They have good petifours(sorry, can't spell) as well. I'll have to try the breads sometime.
I think the owners are Roumanians, but Tom Meg heard the baker speaking Hungarian.
