Zoe's Szechuan/Somerville

I know there have been some reports of a decline here.

This was only my second trip but 6 of us met for dinner a few nights ago. Overall, the meal was very good.

We had dumplings, soup dumplings, dun dun noodles/pork(addictive), mystery chicken..The chicken and noodles were a highlight.

Mains were whole fish/spicy sauce, eggplant, and cumin lamb. lamb was probably the weakest dish...cumin was not well ground and came with an unpleasand "crust" of large bits of cumin. Inferior to the departed New Taste of Asia version.

Overall, we enjoyed Zoe's..lighter food..less sauce than Sichuan Garden in Brookline..a fave of mine.

Side benefit for me was picking up some fresh fish after at Porter Exchange..Kuboiya?? nice tray of uni..very fresh, yellowtail and yellowfin good but not up to the uni.
