A friend finally took me up on dinner here. We were lucky re the noise; it wasn't totally full, and noise level was ok.
Food exceeded expectations. Again. We shared a wonderful grilled
shrimp and white bean appetizer; split our small pasta courses--my friend raved over her feather light, wonderfully seasoned gnocci; while I adored my pesto that included pistachio nuts;
we shared a duck dish with pomograntate and finocchio that was over the moon, but shared two desserts: the intense chocolate torte with custard, and the zeppoli, which were wonderful, as I had told her they would be. Excellent decaf coffee; wonderful
accomodating service; delightful meal for approx. $50 each.
I could have had appetite for a separate appetizer and a separate
main, but the quantities were perfect for my friend, and quite
adequate and more sensible the way we did it.
We'll be back; it was a magical evening after a tough week for
each of us. Sicily approximation, not far from the bridge.
