Dopo recently added lemon ricotta zeppole to the dessert menu. Phenomenal. Light as a pillow, the ricotta gives it a silky texture and the lemon a nice tang. Dusted with powdered sugar, but not too sweet. Fried to order, they arrive to the table fresh and warm. They are slightly larger than donut holes and come five for $7.
All the food at Dopo is delicious, but this is a special treat. Good zeppole are hard to find and these are more than good. Our server says they are (almost) always on the menu.
They also have a cannoli, but we were just too full.
