I went to a class in Minnetonka this past weekend (a rare destination for me due to its considerable distance from Rochester) and thought I'd use the opportunity to stop at Zaroff's Deli.
Well, it looks like it's closed for good. A sign on the door thanks customers for 7 years of patronage. Given that nearly everything in the Deli is still inside, I'm guessing this is a very recent event.
I know their food was considered very hit and miss (admittedly, the once or twice I went the food was mediocre) but I heard they were getting better and they really seemed to care about their craft.
What does this leave for Twin Cities Jewish/Kosher style Delis?
- Cecil's (St. Paul and very hit or miss itself)
- Fishman's Market Deli (Kosher and decent)
- Brothers (a lunch place. I've never been there...)
- Crossroads (also haven't been there yet)
Any I'm leaving out? Does anyone know what happened to Zaroff's? They certainly seemed to have a great location and great space.
