I just happened to be in Anaheim yesterday and decided to stop by the small Lebanese family owned restaurant Zankou Chicken. Even though it is small and the decor is entirely functional rather then decorative the food was just amazing; this place well deserves its Zagat rating and all the praise it has gotten in local papers. I got the chicken tarna plate while my friend got the beef shawerma plate (both cost about $10) and the portions were generous while the food itself was just absolutely fantastic. Far better then any Lebanese places here in San Diego. I was also very surprised this was a chain as I mostly avoid chains but Zankou Chicken seems to have bucked the trend of the food going down hill as a family place changes into a chain.
Damn, I wish we could get one of these down in San Diego.
