Yuzando (Sawtelle) Sushi Lunch

Just got back from a great lunch at Yuzando - the new place on Sawtelle where Sushi Tenn used to be. The new lunch menu is a definite improvement on Tenn. This may just become our favorite west side sushi lunch spot over Mori, Kiriko, and Echigo (It is, of course, no match for Sushi Gen's lunch special...but what is?)

I got the sushi/sashimi combo for 18.50. It came with 1 each of ebi, salmon, tuna, and yellowtail sushi. For sashimi, it included 3 pieces each of albacore and salmon; 2 pieces each of tuna, yellowtail, and snapper. It also included a eel and avacado cut roll. The cuts of fish were good size and it came with miso soup and salad.

My wife got the chirashi - also 18.50 which I think is a little pricey for chirashi. Hers came with chirashi rice, flying fish roe and a similar assortment of sashimi, but it included kanpachi (not listed on the menu listing, but we weren't complaining.) She was really happy with the chirashi.

Overall, the fish was fresh and cuts were generous. Although not cheap, it was a good value for what we got. Hopefully their quality can keep up since we were the only 2 people dining their from 12-1.
