In the spirit of chowing, six Hounds lunched for $16 per person on Peruvian and Venezuelan specialties today at Yunza Restaurant at 1109 Fillmore Street at Golden Gate Avenue—and will post individually:
Hallacas $7, Venezuelan tamal with chicken, salt pork, raisins, olives, onions, peppers
Anticuchos$7, 3 skewers of sliced beef heart with potato, guasacaca and catsup
Papas a la Huancaina $5 roasted potato slices napped with an aji cheese sauce and garnished with hard boiled egg slices
Arepas filled with chicken and avocado $3.50
Asada Negro $9, spiced beef
Ceviche Mixto $9.25, lime marinated seafood
Lengua en Salsa $9.50, sliced tongue with tostones-fried plaintains
Picante de Mariscos $9.25, seafood mixture in spicy broth
Pollo Frito con Yucca y Guasacaca $9 marinated chicken
Torta Tres Leche $3.50, sponge cake soaked in 3 milks and rum
Alfajores $3.50 sugar cookes filled with milk caramel, dusted with powdered sugar
Dulce de Lechoza $3.50 caramalized green papaya slices
Chicha Morada, purple corn drink
Soda de Maltos
