One of the interesting subplots in SGV Chinese food is how Yunnan Garden (or whatever it's called now after several name changes) introduced the previously unrepresented Yunnan style of cooking to the US, then managed to turn this into a chain of restaurants in California and Nevada. (Devoting a large portion of the menu to Sichuanese food probably helped.) Well, the empire has grown again with the opening of Kun Ming Garden in West Covina. Same cold table, same menu as the other branches. Kun Ming Garden is located in the space formerly occupied by Beijing Cuisine Garden (sic), one of the pioneers of Beijing style food in Los Angeles which had more recently descended into something else. Address is 965 S. Glendora Ave., in the Hong Kong Supermarket shopping center.
