Yummy desserts at Trielo/Clovis

After a very nice home-cooked meal, we decided to venture out in the pouring rain in search of some good dessert. We tried Double Rainbow ( I was craving a hot fudge sundae) but they close really early now. We had my teenage daughter and her best friend with us.

Being very tired of the usual Cold Stone Creamery or Baskin Robbins, we wanted to try something different. I suggested we take the girls to Trielo for some "real" desserts. We were promptly seated in the completely empty dining room, it was close to 9:00.

Our server was very cordial and gave us a choice of three desserts. A cheesecake with chocolate sauce or fresh strawberries, a chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream or Bananas Foster. DH and & I split the chocolate lava cake that was rich and decadent. The girls opted for the Bananas Foster. I had a taste it was perfectly prepared and delicious. You don't see this dessert too often on the area menus. It was the first time her friend had tasted this delicious dessert that originated at Brannan's in New Orleans.

We very much enjoyed our desserts here and want to return to try dinner. They are under new management now. I chatted with the server about some upcoming wine dinners they will be hosting in the future. She said their New Year's Eve dinner featured wines from the Justin Vineyards in Paso Robles. ***kim***
