Hi Chowhounders,
A friend and I are heading up to the Bay Area this weekend for Bay to Breakers and are planning to EAT OUR WAY through the area!! We will most likely stop in San Jose on Friday for lunch (we have to get our manju fix at Shuei-Do). I'm wondering if there are any good little bento places? The type of food I'm envisioning is like the fast foodish bentos they have at shops in Japan (like Hoka hoka tei and such?). Is there anything like that in the region? Any other suggestions on yummy chowhoundish foods (we both really like noodles) that are most likely unavailable in our area (Central Coast--Paso Robles & Cambria, to be exact) would be greatly appreciated!!!

Definitely on the list for the weekend: scones at the Cheese Board, Blue Bottle Coffee, Genki Crepes
