Yum Yum, Somerville--update

All that pork talk below reminded me to post on stuff I've tried at Yum Yum since my last posting.

Double-cooked pork: I've only eaten it once here but it was at least as good as Zoe's version (which I also love). Besides the usual bell peppers they included strips of those thin-walled, semi- (and variably) hot green peppers that gave it an extra herbal (and occasionally fiery) kick. A faint smokiness, I think from wok char. Moderately spicy-hot. Wonderful.

Yu Shiang Eggplant & Pork: A very good version. A little sweet, a little pickley sour, a little spicy. (Note: the menu lists eggplant, the chalkboard lists pork; I ordered a combo.)

Sliced Fish w/Lot of Szechuan Chilly Sauce, Hot & Numbing: I don't know what kind of fish this was but it was fresh & sweet and fairly firm-textured, emerging perfectly cooked from being (I'm guessing) lightly fried then simmered in chili sauce w/assorted sliced vegetables. Boneless. Quite spicy with both red chili flakes and lots of that numbing Sichuan pepper.

I will happily eat all these dishes again.

Also, on the pork theme, the menu lists Dong Puo Pork (same name as Sichuan Garden's pig foot) but I haven't gotten to it yet.
