There's a brand spanking new "Australian gastropub" on Fourth Ave amongst the tire shops...
and the food is REALLY GOOD. We had lovely very conventional salads and (tender flakey moist) meat pies.
One of the owners is in the kitchen - roasting a leg of lamb for sandwiches - so I'm hooked.
Fish and chips, burgers and other pub food, but you can just tell they're going to be done with a high deliciousness factor. And oysters! ($11 for 1/2 doz when I was there)
The location is weird - plate glass windows looking out on 4th Ave traffic jams. Interior is industrial chic - polished concrete and corrugated tin - with a cozy back party room. Anybody walking into Park Slope from the Atlantic Ave subway is in luck tho . . .
