Yum! Best bahn mi! (Saigon)

Sally | Jun 24, 2005 07:56 PM

I just had a sandwich from Saigon's new location (on Mott and Grand) and I have to say, that was the yummiest bahn mi I've ever had! --I'm not comparing it to the old location which I had never managed to run across, but I was excited to see it on Mott St., sharing a space with a small jewelry store, just as someone on the board had said. I got a premade sandwich right away that tasted very fresh, and they couldn't have been more courteous, warning me it wasn't hot and giving me peppers on the side.

I've never relished "mystery meat" so much--I think, crumbled pieces of seasoned and marinated pork--the best BLT. It's so light and refreshing for a savory sandwich. A good amalgam of salty, sweet, and tangy and only $3.
