New Yorkers heading to Montreal

LilianNY | Aug 17, 2003 10:36 PM

Hi--I have printed up many of the suggestions for good food in Montreal but am wondering if there are any restaurants in particular that we should aim for, keeping in mind that we have some pretty good chow in Manhattan also. I hear the French--esp bistros-- definitely have something over what is usually avail to us in NYC. I have phoned for a reservation at Tocque and am waiting for a response. We have pretty decent Chinese in Manhattan but does anyone think the chinese food in Montreal is worth spending one of our 4 dinners and 5 lunches on? We are bringing our 6-yr-old who is actually pretty open to trying new things and can sit for a while (esp if accompanied by gameboy). I am particularly intersted in places that use fresh, local produce and fresh killed fish, poultry etc. Thanks for any suggestions!!!!
