I'm off to London on business next week, but will be spending a few leisure days in York (for the first time in 18-odd years). Looking for decent no-frills places to grab lunch - a cafe or a pub with good food. (I've always had a soft spot for a good Ploughman's.) I've read that Cafe Concerto is ok for a lunch bite. I've also received a 'rec' for Tony's Plaice in Bootham Crescent as a reasonable fish and chippie stop.
I'd appreciate any input on the abovementioned spots as well as other suggestions (i.e, good Indian or Italian) from those in the know.
Thanks a lot.
