In New York to Eat for a Week

Fellow Chowhounds--

My husband and I will be in New York Sept. 22-28, and thus far, we've made dinner reservations at 71 Clinton, Babbo, Chicama, Gramercy Tavern, and Balthazar. Needless to say, these are places that seem to be on everyone's "gotta go there" list. Beyond these, I'm really looking for a few off-the-beaten path ethnic joints for lunch. I don't care about atmosphere (bare bones, hole-in-walls are great), but I do want really good food--and I'll eat anything. I'm a food critic/writer, living in Denver, and while there's plenty of great Mexican food here, there's a dearth of everything else. Any recommendations for dim sum, Japanese (not Nobu), Indian, Turkish, Thai, Spanish, or other? And we're happy to venture beyond Manhattan.

Thanks!
