Thought I might liven this place up a bit. Lots of new restaurants opening up in New York City at the moment, and some of them are absolutely outstanding. Have been trying to hit them up as much as possible, so thought I would kick this off by listing the two recent new places I have been and then talking about upcoming plans and then what is on the list for next up.
First, recently I have been to Fulgrances Laundromat (Yes, an offshoot of Fulgrances Paris), Dame, and Les Trois Chevaux. All are incredibly different and definitely worth hitting up. Currently, Fulgrances has Victoria Blamey (most recently from Gotham) in residence, and she is serving up a sustainable, well thought out menu. And the wine pairings are fantastic. Dame was wow. The oysters and the shishito pepper and squid skewers were absolutely fantastic. Also have a really fun wine list as well as a more traditional list. And finally, Les Trois Chevaux, which is Angie Mar's (formerly of Beatrice Inn) new place is absolutely gorgeous. It is old school French dishes with twists in an absolutely beautiful space. All three are very different and absolutely worth a visit. I plan on going back to all three in the near future.
Some places that have opened that are on my list to try are:
Sixty Three Clinton
I also have reservations at the Chef's Counter on August 20 for One White Street in Tribeca.
