Inside the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, in the same food court that hosts McDonalds, Popeyes, and Panera is this newcomer to the world of 'street food meets shopping mall' convenience.

Yong Kang Street is a famous food street in Taiwan. This shop, with a total of six locations (Las Vegas, Houston, and three in NY), serves noodles, dumplings and a few other choice items in various styles from Taiwan to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Japan.

I tried the Hong Kong Noodle Soup with a topping of bbq pork. The broth is spot-on delicious, the thin noodles are chewy, and the roast pork (not bbq or red) has a beautiful flavor, This is a serious operation, hard to expect better. The soup has cabbage, onion, and broccoli. The idea of getting something this good in this setting is practically revolutionary. This is a stand-alone shop with it's own seating.

Aside from noodles and dumplings there is also a seaweed salad, squid salad, fried rice dishes, and three vegetable stir fries. I look forward to going back.
