Last night,my mother and I had dinner at Yitzes Deli. Pity the original owner sold out,because the food and service is not the same Yitzes special Deil quality anymore! The coffee was so bitter,no amount of cream,or sugar would help. The Kiska,was stale tasting. The bread(waterbread) was not too fresh either. The deli sandwitch I ordered,Hot Tongue,was quite ordinary,in fact actually tasted like it had been cooked too long. Not at all juicy. My mother's deli sandwitch,Roast Brisket of Beef,was tough and dry. Not juicy like promised. The service was awkward and not overly interested. Plus the waitress seemed not to know anything about the deli meats that were on the menu at all! The bill came(I ordered dill pickles-rip-off-$1.10-lousy!!!) to:$28.00. In The Words Of The "Three Stooges'Curley Howard:"Oh!! A CLIP JOINT!! WOOF,WOOF!!" As For Studio Cafe:Come-Change The Chef+ The Menu!! It Is BORING,PRETENCIOUS,OVERRATED designer food!!!!!! Squab with Pine Nuts +Potatoes=doesn't work. Sorry!! The Liver-This isn't Calves'Liver!! Sorbet was nothing special. Coffee was rotten brew!! What I want to see-a return to the old favorites menu at Studio Cafe:Shrimp and risotto+Asparagus+mushrooms,Chicken Pot Pie,Tortelini +Asparagus+Ricotta Cheese+Carrots,etc. This new menu and chef do not impress me at all. Why did the Studio Cafe eliminate all their old time favorites? This is progess? Bah! HUMBUG!!!
