Hit Yi soon the other day and they had a Mochi red bean bun. Their usual challahey bun with a layer of mochi and red bean absolutely delicious. Can't even pick a favorite in this place.
Whil I was there they were doing a gorgeous gift box for a guy who was taking it for Easter Dinner!
Finally hit the new Bazaar in depth:
- hot smoked sturgeon $8 pound excellent if a little fishy
- Cold smoked salmon $8 pound that I bought, but have not tried yet. Only downside is that they just hack off a hunk as opposed to the delicate filet that salmon really deserves. Did I mention $8 a pound? Is this 1979?
- Decent hot homemade mushroom barley soup $2 for a pint. Quite a bargain.
- Sunflower seed halva! Amazing fresh, never heard of this before. Addictive!
Cosmo Cupcakes - Watertown
Newsflash: new trendoidal bakery open in Watertown right down the block from Sevan. They are carrying Cristine's Ice Cream and doing their own baking. Haven't really been in their yet as the baking is not quite up and running.
Have gotten hooked on their fish tacos! Every bit as good as Rubios in San Diego (back before they had 20 locations).
That said, tried their carnitas and they were just soggy and bad. Would not eat them again. Perhaps the Carne Asada next time.
