Perhaps I am biased because I remember visiting this restaurant with my family in the 'olde days' of BV when it was an open-air plaza. It was my requested first stop on disenbarking the summer camp bus after a month of mac and cheese (in the mid 80's) But I can't help but want to write about this little place and it's menu that hasn't changed in twenty years.
I have revisited Yenching on a semi-frequent basis over the last couple of months for lunch and have had some very tasty meals.
Crispy Beef or Orange Chicken ($10ish each for lunch with steamed rice, soup, and a very greasy but yummy spring roll) are my current faves. The Yu Hsaing (sp?) Pork is so tender with lots of bamboo shoots and sauce to drizzle over steamed rice.
Swift, friendly, attentive service and nice tea.
It's not glamorous, but saves me the trip to Spadina Garden or Rol San... the crispy beef is just as good.
Anyone else a fan?
