Has anyone here tried the yellow cake recipe from ChefTalk? There's a pretty extensive thread on BettyR's recipe.
Anyway, I was wondering if any of you who use this recipe had tried doubling it. I read something in that thread about the cake "exploding" when someone tried to double it. I was also wondering if anyone successfully used cake flour in that recipe. The cake sounds good, but in most of the pictures I've seen the crumb is very loose and I like a cake with a tighter, finer crumb.
