New Years Eve idea

Janice | Dec 16, 200106:39 PM

Hi all! I just ran across this posting on Craigs List. Sounds like an amazing deal for New Years at one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Thought I'd share. Anyone heard of any other good ideas for New Year's dinners?

If you are looking for an intimate, cozy atmosphere
where you will indulge your palette and leave feeling
like you had eaten like Roman royalty (on the cheap)
come dine at Ideale on New Years Eve. Ristorante
Ideale will be serving a traditional Roman New Years
Eve feast on December 31st. We will feature a
sumptuous five course meal for only $42 for the first
seating and $55 for the second seating. A special
tasting menu will be available for the first seating
for $28. Dancing will follow.

The menu includes appetizers: Tuna Tartar all' Arancio
e Finoccho- a parfait of tuna, crab meat, fresh fennel
and blood oranges in a citron vinaigrette or
Cotecchino con Lenticchie- a traditional Roman New
Year's dish (said to bring good luck for the coming
year). I Primi: Tortelloni di Zucca- Homemade
tortelloni stuffed with yellow pumpkin and amaretti,
with parmigiano,in a light butter-sage sauce or
Papardelle al Cinghiale- Maurizio's homemade
papardelle alla Toscana in a wild boar ragu'.I
Secondi: Filetto al Pepe Verde- Prime-cut beef fillet
with green peppercorns in a Pinot Bianco sauce.
Served with farro (Italian barley)or Pesce misto- Chilean
sea-bass and whole, large prawns with fresh dill and
red peppercorns. In a Pinot Grigio, lemongrass and
lobster broth. I Contorni: Patate Arroste (roasted
potatoes with rosemary, Insalata Mista (Ideale's mixed
greens)or Carciofi alla Giudea (baby artichokes,
prepared Roman style) I Dolci: Mille Foglie- in a
cream of peach and warm chocolate sauce or Maurizio's
famous tiramisu'.

Call now to reserve, as seating is limited!
