New Years Eve

Looking for a very romantic, fun but not too crazy, restaurant for New Years Eve with spactacular food. Too much to ask? On the plus side, I'm flexible as to neighborhood (within Manhattan), and am willing to splurge. I was going to say that price is no object, but that's not really true, since I called ADNY just to see what the story was, and they told me that dinner was $380 per person, not including tax, tip, or any beverages (not even one glass of champagne to mark the occasion), and by the way, large deposit required. So, ok, price IS an object, but I am willing to spend up to $500 or so for two, all in.

I usually shy away from hotel restaurants, but would be willing to consider them, particularly in connection with any room packages, just to avoid the post-midnight, freezing on the corner, can't get a cab nightmare.
