The fish and chips recipe has changed. =( I had commented on some of the changes in another thread a little over a mo ago. Went back last night since partner had had a bad day, and the place is kind of guilty pleasure.
The food is now served on fake newspaper (I think it's parchment paper, but it now has newsprint on it). Portions remain small. The worst part, though, was the crust. Gone is the distinctive firm and crunchy shell. It was thin, barely crispy, and didn't hold up well to the malt vinegar or the tartar sauce. Didn't have my partner's fish and chips; he said his crust was "fine" but thought his fish was rubbery (I thought my fish flesh was okay).
I can understand the downsizing, but I don't understand why they changed the batter. Very disappointing. Don't think I'll be back.
