as per the request from the alpha dog himself, yaranush is a kinda dingy middle eastern store that you'd go past if not entirely tuned in on central ave. just down from city limits diner. the staff has been described by a local food writer as "surly," but i like em a lot, and the prepared foods have served as dinner many a night hereabouts (stuffed eggplant is quite good, as is the long, flat circle of halvah bread. haven't tried the frozen boureks, but will do so soon). the nuts in general are great, as josh reported re the walnut frenzy. as for culinarily civil disobedience, i find it highly tenable. bravo!
