Too lazy to cook and with a sudden yearning for a good, savory and spicy ' Singapore Fried Rice Vermicelli ', I decided to take a short drive down the road to Yang's, for, IMHO, one of the best rendition of this dish in town! The manageress who greeted and recognized me told me it has been over a year since I last paid them a visit!.....Wow! That long?!
To augment this dish, I tagged on a couple of my favorite Dim Sum....Fried Taro Croquette and freshly baked HK style Pineapple buns with BBQ Pork filling.
I am glad to report the well seasoned and executed Vermicelli dish did not disappoint! Using more pricey and refined ingredients like yellowing chives and Tiger shrimps to elevate the dish. The result was a much tastier and enjoyable offering than most of the mediocre and ordinary versions around town. IMO, Yang's slightly more exorbitant price point was more than justifiable!
BTW, those freshly baked, fluffy light buns with a generous amount of juicy and delicious BBQ pork filling also deserved a thumbs-up mentioning! So glad I have O'Mei and Yang's to provide a 1-2 punch in provide me with yummy freshly baked Pineapple BBQ pork buns whenever I am in need of this addictive fix!
