A funny thing happened at a certain east Dallas restaurant (the name of which I won't mention on here because some people don't like my mentioning it) the other week. Three sushi fans from all over happened to be seated in a row. Each exchanged their favorite spots and traded recommendations. Well, I went to Yamaguchi's at 7713 Inwood Rd. (214-350-8660) to try the well touted stuff. And the verdict? Very very good! I only had two things, the Cajun roll, and a made up roll with Salmon, avocado, jalapeno and something else, but my new found friends ordered a bunch of tuna, eel, and other delicacies.
Everything was well received and even a sushi virgin was impressed (but then she had no frame of reference, but still). I liked this place a lot, and it's a lot better than Blue Fish, Tei Tei, Sushi on McKinney, and a lot of other places in town. Granted, it's not much to look at from the outside (or the inside for that matter), but the food is very fresh and expertly prepared. Definitely worth another visit for the sashimi as these folks swore by it, and it looked pretty good to me.
The other suggestion I received was for Midori in Las Colinas. I have yet to try this place. Have any CH's been? Any suggestions?
