On my own to choose a special lunch in the Lebanon NH area, I decided to make a much delayed return visit to Yama in West Lebanon. It is located in an unassuming shared building away from the commercialized area around I89/exit 19. It is well worth the few extra miles to get there. The restaurant is small but offers both Korean and Japanese dishes. I ordered off the lunch specials menu and enjoyed Oyako Donburi, cooked vegetables, egg and chicken over rice. The sauce is on the sweet side and the bite sized pieces of chicken were perfectly cooked. Despite being an inexpensive lunch special which also came with miso soup, I was served 5 small banchan dishes. Fresh orange pieces came with the bill. With tax, lunch came to $9.76 (I just had water to drink.) I hope I don't wait so long for my next visit.
